Application Guide for S1 Discretionary Places (for admission to S1 in September 2026)

 1. Application Procedure and Required Documents

 

Please bring the following documents personally to the school’s administration office or submit your application through the Education Bureau’s SSPA e-Platform (eSSPA) and upload the following documents.

• All photocopies should be on A4 paper and do not require the use of a document holder.
• Applicants may apply to not more than two participating secondary schools listed in the Handbook for Application for Secondary One Discretionary Places. Otherwise, the discretionary place applications will be rendered void.
• No primary school recommendation letter is required.
  
  

2. Interview

• Date: 14^thMarch, 2026 (Saturday)
• Language: Cantonese and English
• Format: Individual interview

Admission Criteria and weighting:

Academic performance and Education Bureau rank order	50%
Conduct and comments	20%
Non-academic Extracurricular activities, awards, or talents	15%
Interview performance	15%

Remark:

1. All applicants will be scheduled for an interview on 14^th March, 2026 (Saturday). If you do not receive a notification by 6^th March, 2026 (Friday), please call the school’s general office before 3pm on 9^th March, 2026 (Monday).
2. If you are unable to attend the interview in the time slot stated, please call the school’s general office before 3pm before 9^th March, 2026 (Monday). However, the interview date cannot be changed.
   
   

3. Submission Dates and Times

Submission Period: 2^ndJanuary, 2026 (Friday) to 16^thJanuary, 2026 (Friday)

Office Hours:
Monday to Friday: 9 am to 5pm
Saturday: 9 am to 12:30pm

4. Number of Discretionary Places for Secondary One: 40

5. Application Results

According to the Education Bureau’s regulations, the school will notify the parents of successful candidates in writing (by mail or email) and by phone on 31^st March, 2026, that their child has been placed on the list of successful candidates for discretionary places. Additionally, the allocation results for discretionary places will be announced by the Education Bureau on 7^thJuly, 2026, along with the central allocation results. Before the announcement, the school must not disclose the admission status to parents, so parents do not need to call the school for inquiries.
