Secondary 1 Life-Wide Learning Programme | Discovering Hong Kong: History, Culture, and Identity

Date: 06/05/2026

Our Secondary 1 students participated in our Life-wide Learning Programme with the theme “Self-Discovery and Root-Seeking Culture: Building Personal Identity and Appreciating Local Heritage.” Through a range of activities, including learning workshops, hands-on adventure experiences, and cultural guided tours, students explored themselves from multiple perspectives, deepened their understanding of the community, and strengthened their knowledge of Hong Kong’s history and local culture.

In the learning workshops, students developed skills in communication, collaboration, and mutual support through group activities and adventure-based learning . During the Stanley and Aberdeen Fishing Village guided tours, students stepped into the local community and experienced, first-hand, the historical and cultural highlights of different areas of Hong Kong .

This programme not only broadened students’ horizons, but also helped them build a stronger sense of identity, develop a genuine appreciation for local culture, and reflect on themselves through meaningful learning experiences, supporting their whole-person development
