Joint School Teacher Professional Development Day - Social Innovation and Education

Our school emphasises values education and life planning of students. As forward-looking teachers keeping abreast of the latest educational trends, we take the initiative to look into how to use resources in society to provide students a broad and balanced curriculum.

The theme of the Joint School Teacher Professional Development this year was Social Innovation and Education. Based on the parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke, our school supervisor Mr. Tang Siu Hin encouraged teachers to be compassionate like the Good Samaritan to care about students and give a helping hand to the needy in society.

Through the sharing of Dr. CA Tse, the founder of Social Entrepreneurship School Education (SEnSE) Program, Dr Ilex Lam, the founder of iEnterprise, as well as founders of the Illuminant, WEDO GLOBAL, Re:learn and Edu Animal, teachers gained a deeper understanding of the idea and development of social innovation.

Participating in different activities such as The Human Library, cultural activities of ethnic minorities and VR experience of dementia patients, teachers were ignited to reflect upon how to introduce social innovation activities to enrich the learning experience of students to broaden their horizons and enhance all round development.

Using innovative pedagogies and mindset to nurture students’ empathy to cater to the needs of students’ growth and the changing society is our vision.
